RAGE®: Campaign Edition App Reviews

I bought this game figuring that it wasnt going to be too bad, but that it wasnt going to be great, because it was only $10. So I didnt have high expectations for it. But it says that it does support the Xbox 360 Wired Controller (Microsoft, not some 3rd-party junk), and on the screen it gives the appropriate button for actions and such, but there is no reaction from the software that it is reading the controller. I use the same controller for my other games on my 2011 MBP, but for some reason it just isnt working for this game. Other than this annoying part, the game itself isnt bad at all and I would recommend it for a player on a budget who enjoys using a mouse and keyboard instead of a controller.

My Mac meets or exceeds the system requirements, but I am unable to play this game because it freezes, locks up, or hangs within seconds of starting. Do not buy.

Now its crashing less… Im not sure why. Its lots of fun!

I really liked this game then I upgrade to MNT Lion and have not been able to play it. I have been checking the support website for over 5 months and no answer or support. This is the first time I have gotten burned for this much money and no support. Read reviews before upgrading because you can loose your apps…...

only problem is that it is way to short and there are no DLCs

My Machine; 27" iMac 3.4 GHZ Intel i7 8 GB RAM Mountain Lion I have played this game 3-4 times already and have nothing but praise for this game. Great graphics and storyline and challenging situations make this game a real keeper. I highly recommend this game! D.

Rage is a great game and it works perfectly!

Ill admit that I was a bit worried about playing this game on my iMac 2.9 ghz machine after reading some of the reviews here; However I am pleasantly surprised with the visuals and performance of this game. With the game set to 1600x900 without any anti-aliasing, the game runs at at 60fps or more without Vsync and does show some tearing; NOTE: does show some stutter with Vsync enabled. The only thing I couldnt enable was the GPU transcoding, I guess the Gforce GT 650m isnt up to the task. Enabling Texture Detail (should have been called "Detail Textures" since all it really adds was a micro-grit to all the blurry textures) caused quite a slow down; though the game warned me that it would affect gameplay and it did, but was completely playable. I have also not experienced any crashes as many poor reviews have pointed out. One bug that has been, well, bugging me is the game is constantly swapping my weapons during gameplay. Regardless, this is a good gaming experience and kudos to Bethesda, ID and ASPYR.

This is an awesome open world game and it runs great on my 2012 Mac mini however it would be nice if Aspyr would start supporting the Logitech gamepads.

Cons: -$19.99 for Campaign ONLY NO Co-op and NO Multiplayer. Rage on Steam has both of these features and has the same cost as this version. -No New Game+ This means all the weapons, vehicles, items, and upgrades you acquired will be lost upon completing the game. To me this was a huge letdown. -There isn’t much of a story -Loading times can be a bit long Pros: -Fun shooter action -Nice Graphics (depending on your settings) -Mini-Games are fun -Vehicle combat is enjoyable Additional Notes: Anarchy Edition content includes the Fists of Rage, Double-Barrel Shotgun, Rat Rod, and Crimson Elite Armor. However, almost every item is unnecessary: -Fists of Rage You will rarely use the Fists of Rage unless you run out of ammo and later on in the game the enemies become tough enough to withstand multiple hits. -Double-Barrel Shotgun I found myself using the semi-auto shotgun more than the Double-Barrel since the Double-Barrel needs to reload after every shot. -Rat Rod The Rat Rod can only mount one weapon at a time and will most likely be replaced by the other vehicles you acquire later on. -Crimson Elite Armor Probably the most useful Bonus Content item. It makes every other outfit unneeded.

I want to give this game 5 stars, but i can’t even open the game. Everytime i try too it closes and comes up with a window that says “RAGE quit unexpectedly.” I payed 20 bucks for this game. Please fix this.

I have a 2011 Macbook Air (4gb RAM, 1.6 GHz, Intel HD 3000) and im writing this review to just let people with a computer like mine know that it can work very well. I have everything on minimum quality, and textures dont always load instantly, but when they dont its just a blur - and not some blue squares like others have reported. As to the game itself, its a very fun game that has Some replayability, but not a ton. Id play it twice in a row - but there arent many other ways to play the campaign…its pretty straightforward - especially if you are obsessive and like to get everything the first time (like me). So - if you want some fun gameplay and a shooter-focused game, this is it. If you want something that you can play over and over again (differently), then this isnt for you. Its a FPS primarily, not a full rpg.

I’ve got a 2014 brand new 15 inch Macbook Pro with retina display and maxed out graphics card….game looks beautiful and is lots of fun to play! For some reason I still get a small bit of wave like distortion when I move fast around the enviornment and I have no idea how to fix it but it isn’t a game stopper by any means. Tons of fun to play so far! No issues with crashing, game saving etc….yet but I will update my post if I experience any issues.

It goes like this. 1. You pay $20 for this game. 2. You download 13+ GB package. 3. It fails to install. 4. You repeat from step 2. There are cheaper ways to annoy yourself. On one of the attempts it will actually install, even though it told you it failed to download. But it’s impossible to tell which one. Good luck! The game itself is great.

This game runs amazingly on Macbook Air 11-inch Early 2014! (1.4GHz Intel Core i5 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Macintosh HD Intel Graphics 5000 1536 MB) I experienced no lag or crash at all and I played for 26 hours total! The only minor problem I have running RAGE on Macbook Air is the textures not loading instantly. Some have said that when the textures were not loading in, either they had white or blue squares (which happens in my game) or blurry pixels. But it isn’t a major problem and the textures load in pretty fast. My resolution is set to 1366 x 768 [683:384] NO antialiasing, Vsync is OFF, LARGE texture cache, texture detail ON, Anisotropic filter on HIGH, GPU transcode is not supported on my Macbook. The game still runs at a beautiful 60 FRAMES PER SECOND STILL MAINTANING HIGH GRAPHICS AND RESOLUTION!! If your looking for a great shooter that runs beautifully on macbook, this is the game! They should also include the Scorchers DLC on the App Store.
